Out and about
The children continue to be out and about in the community. We joined some of the children from Class 3 and set off on the bus to visit The Yard. There was great fun to be had on the swings (big and little) and on the spinning saucer. We also explored the sounds on the outdoor musical instruments, making the most of the good weather.
Helping the local community
The nursery pupils also experienced their first assembly this year when they joined the whole school for the Harvest celebration. Many of the staff and children had brought in gifts for the Food Bank and these made a very impressive display on the Harvest table.
Working with partners
We are very fortunate to have the support of pupils from George Heriot’s school again this year. They have given us musical performances on the flute and the piano and some of our children have been inspired to try playing music for themselves. Music of a different sort has also been provided by the inspiring Clown Doctors this term. The children have loved being entertained by their very special humour and silly antics.
At the end of the month we enjoyed some messy Halloween related sensory activities. The children were able to explore a Pumpkin, cooked spaghetti, jelly and custard as well as pumpkin lanterns, candlesticks and big furry spiders!
