April – June 2018
Out and About
As we continued our work on ‘The Seasons’ the children visited the wonderful Botanic Gardens where they were able to explore the beautiful trees and flowers, wander through the Chinese Garden and look at the waterfall from the bridge and enjoy some time relaxing on the grass.
Outdoor Learning
This term we have been using our outdoor spaces for our art and drama sessions. The children have been very creative with wool (spider’s webs) sticks (good for making legs) and clay (insect bodies). We have been sowing wild flower seeds in the nursery meadow and making bird feeders to hang from our lovely apple trees.
In the classroom
As the end of term approached, the Nursery pupils celebrated with a special Graduation ceremony and said goodbye and best wishes to four of our pupils as they make the exciting move up to Primary 1. Every child’s successes were recognised on our Achievement Award Day. We were so proud to acknowledge the progress they had all made, whether they had just joined us or had been with us all year.
Thank You
The whole nursery team would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody for all the support they have given to the school and the nursery this year. We hope that the summer sunshine continues and we look forward to seeing our returners next term and to welcoming our new pupils as they start their learning journey with Oaklands School.
