Friends of Oaklands is a registered charity (Registered Charity No. SC048592), run by parents and staff, dedicated to fundraising and providing resources and social opportunities for our pupils. Just Giving

Highlights of the Friends of Oaklands support
Lagganlia
Friends of Oaklands assisted in funding the senior residential trip to Lagganlia. Six of our young people took to the Cairngorms for a 5 day adventure trip where they canoed, climbed trees, slid down ski slopes, explored nature, and partied! For some, this was their first stay away from home without their parents – what a huge step! Lagganlia had also never accommodated young people with such complex needs and did an amazing job making sure that everybody could participate in all the activities! Huge well done to all our young people, staff, and Lagganlia.
Clown Doctors
As a school we are extremely grateful to the Friends of Oaklands for helping us to continue to fund our Clown Doctor visits. Without their help we would really struggle to be able to maintain what we see as a vital part of our week. So thank you Friends of Oaklands!
Everyone at Oaklands loves the Clown Doctors. They bring laughter, nonsense, smiles and mischief in abundance, to every class they visit. Each week pupils and staff have their spirits lifted by the music and clowning, and the Clown Doctors’ ability to interact with our pupils is a real joy to see. The pupils’ engagement, in terms of alertness, communication and physical movement, is all hugely important to their development and achievement. But more than that, as we can all testify, the opportunity to just have some quality fun time, to laugh or giggle, is so important.
