Oaklands Choir Shines at the Queen’s Hall!

It was a proud night for our school community last night as our school choir took to the stage at the Queen’s Hall as part of ‘On This, a Winter’s Night’.

In collaboration with Broughton, Buckstone, Granton, Taobh Na Pairce and Trinity Primary Schools, the choirs brought the house down with some beautiful performances of winter songs from different languages and cultures.

Our very own Sophie from Beech Class even starred with her solo performance during ‘Oh, Watch the Stars!’

It was a tribute to the pupils and staff in our choir that the other schools learned some signalong which they used throughout the performance.

Led magnificently throughout by our Music teacher, Meg – the heart and soul behind the performance – and with the support of the other staff choir members Angela, Michelle, Ruby, Jen, Annie and Sheena, our pupils Morven, Andrew, Leila, Maddie, Sophie and Subha shone, and had a night that they and their proud families will never forget.

Thanks also to Stephen Deazley, Artistic Director of Love Music for bringing the whole show together and for being so positive about Oaklands taking part.

As ever, much more over on Twitter @Team_Oaklands
