Maple

Maple’s class teacher this year is Nancy Dundas. Watch this space for updates about Maple throughout the year!

February 2026

Maple class have had a busy start to 2026, getting stuck into the new year and enjoying a one-off spell of beautiful snow, which we were all fascinated by!

Burns Night celebrations followed the new year, and we loved hearing the bagpipes (although some ear-covering was necessary!) as the haggis was piped around the school!

We’ve been exploring our theme ‘Rainbows and Sound’ through a variety of art, sensory play and group activities.  We love getting messy in Maple class and particularly enjoyed decorating the classroom with cornflour and water gloop!

Despite the cold weather, we are still bundling up and going to the park when we can.  Some of us are braving the water at Ainslie Park pool, developing our swimming and independence skills as we learn to use this public pool.

December 2025

Maple Class have had a busy term and have managed to cram in a lot of fun and frolics!  No one can say life in Maple Class is boring!  We have continued to enjoy weekly bus trips, swimming and developing our friendships. We have been broadening our scientific knowledge this term, particularly enjoying the messier, more dramatic experiments like the mentos volcano!  Everyone is growing in confidence and independence, not to mention height! It’s hard to believe we are almost half way through Primary 4. With Christmas approaching we have been working hard on what promises to be a very lively performance in the Christmas show. Maple Class would like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

Maple Class have had a busy start to the term catching up after the Summer and getting to know our lovely new members of staff!  Everyone has grown up so much over the Summer, and we can already tell it’s going to be a fun year! We kicked things off in style with a classic Maple water fight.  Looking forward to a fun and eventful Primary 4!
