Rowan Class

August-October 2016

The pupils of S1/S2 have settled well into the new school year. They have adapted well to their new class friends and staff. Our theme for this term is “our community”. We have begun exploring this in art by making houses out of a variety of materials including clay, paint and polystyrene. Check the Expressive Arts section…

3 of our pupils have begun joining classes in Craigroyston High School. 2 pupils have been going to the Nail Design Group to have their nails painted and another has begun a Home Economics class. All the pupils are really enjoying this experience and this will be continuing throughout the year.

We have particularly enjoyed our Science lessons this term, we have been learning about the solar system and the different planets in it. We had lots of fun exploring hot and cold planets using balloons filled with warm water and ice.

In cooking we had lots of fun making bread, we enjoyed tasting it for snack so much that we have decided to do this for our enterprise activities. Class S1/S2 have also been enjoying the lovely weather we have been experiencing, spending a lot of time outdoors in the school playground and on trips out of school to the botanics and Lauriston Castle.
